What You See Is What You See is the twenty third episode in season 1 of CSI: NY.

SummaryEdit

While Mac dines at his local breakfast spot, a gunman opens fire, leaving a waitress critically injured and a man dead, and Mac having to choose whether to chase after the suspect or save the life of the young woman.

PlotEdit

Mac enters the diner to see the waitress talking to what he assumes is her boyfriend. He also sees another woman, a man at the far table and another man sat towards the front. He sits down and orders the usual, when another man re-emerges likely from the bathroom. He sits down and lays his newspaper down. When the waitress moves the neswpaper she uncovers a gun. Mac instantly jumps up, and the man at the front of the diner also pulls out a gun. The second man shoots the table and the bullet richochets onto the pastry holder, the first man then shoots the waitress in her left shoulder and the second man in his right leg before taking off. Mac then starts to help the waitress. He uses her phone to call the police, paramedics and his team.
