At some unknown point Tony was injured in a drive-by shooting that paralyzed him from the waist down. Eight years later after the attack he was brought in on suspicion that he raped Pamela again and directed her husband Tom to kill her because of new laws. But when CSI Sara Sidle and Detective [[Sam Vega]] saw that he was handicapped they saw they were being played by the husband and let Tony go.

In Felonius Monk, it's mentioned by Nick that the Snakebacks were shut down some time earlier after they killed some German tourists and the police, as a result, arrested several of their members for all manner of crimes.
