'''Karl "Red" Cooper''' was a former bank robber and murderer who appeared in the {{LV}} episode [[Killer]].
==Background==
Karl Cooper was an Army Ranger who became a highly successful bank robber. He becmae known among his accomplices as "Red" because he was often in debt. When one of his associates, Clayton Nash, testified against him in exchange for a reduced sentence of his own. Consequently, Cooper was sentenced to seven years in prison. After being released, he settled down with his girlfriend from Ohio, Janice, and settled down into a suburban family life. In 2006, Cooper's past life came back to haunt him when Nash came to him and, as part of his rehabilitation process in AA, was making amends to people he had wronged and apologized to Cooper for selling him out. Unable to let the betrayal go, Cooper formed a plan to kill him.

*To date, Red is the first of only two killers on CSI to have been followed from the start of the episode in the CSI series. The second was [[Paulie Krill]] in the episode [[Working Stiffs]].

==History==
King had helped the Carver family win a case for $200,000 against the power company, however, Sam Carver insists that she "held out for more money", and that, because of this, they could not move somewhere for their eldest son to spend his final days.

==Dead Woman Walking==
King is initially approached by the CSIs as a suspect in a murder investigation, however, soon after they enter her house, radiation is detected on her. King is examined by a doctor, who explains to Horatio Caine that she's ingested Iodine 131, roughly the amount taken by four patients over a six-month period. King is estimated to only have a week left to live. 
When searching for enemies that might want to harm her, it is brought to light that King is filing a lawsuit against Risher Pharmaceuticals for contaminating groundwater, affecting one thousand homeowners. King asked for $128 million.
Further investigation into Risher Pharmaceuticals reveals that King has an inside source supplying her with information against Risher. However, she refuses to give up her source, as it will make the evidence she has gathered insubmissible, and she is determined to help the people Risher hurt, claiming that she is only one victim, and that Risher has hurt so many more.
It is discovered that her informant is Parker Boyd, who was infatuated with King, which she used to her advantage. having realized that King was using him, Boyd poisoned her, hoping that if she were dead, he would be able to forget about her.

Champ was killed by a clean headshot. Drops fired back at the car, hitting one of the shooters. When the limo crashed, Drops promised to cover for Aaron and had him run from the scene and dispose of the gun. He then claimed that only he and Champ had been in the car (the girl they picked up had been kicked out of the car by Champ and died). Eventually, the CSIs found out the truth. Brass attempted to charge Drops with the murder of the shooter he hit, but, as the lawyer pointed out, the ballistic report showed the he fired after being shot at, which is "textbook self-defense". Though it was indeed declared self-defense, Drops was later charged with a minor weapons misdemeanor and was sent to low security prison.

Examining the remains found something familiar, traces of blue paint and motor oil, but unlike the other victims, this one was a man. Greer mistook him for one of his victims as the man had long blonde hair and it was a dark night. The find a garbage bad with a blow up doll in it, which contained a chunk of hair from a previous victim. In the mouth of the doll there was a artists sketch, in the picture, a frightened woman, begging for her life, in the back of what appeared to be a van and through the van's windows they could see the logo of an erotic store.
