Samantha Owens is a CSI who was introduced in Season 10, "Dead Ringer." She and Walter Simmons know each other from both working the night shift together.

Season 10

When she is first intorduced she and Natalia Boa Vista are having an arguement when Sam messes up a critical part of the evidence by leaving the bloody wooden shard under the microscope too long, destroying any DNA that could be extracted to bring down Esteban Navarro. Walter then sees her quiting her job and encourages her to stay by saying mistakes are part of the job. Which leads to her taking a sample of vomit from the victims clothing, which is not the victim's as Natalia assumed and managed to get a hit on a Micheal Galliver and later she promises to Natalia not to tell anyone she had missed it.

At the end of the season 10 finale, Habeas Corpse, it is revealed that she was the one who had killed her ex-boyfriend and had left Ryan Wolfe there unconscious next to the body. Presumably she was incarcerated, but it's not confirmed.

Ryan Wolfe

Ryan was attracted to her and appeared deeply hurt when he found out she had left him next to her dead ex-boyfriend.

Eric Delko

Eric also appeared to have been attracted to Sam, but he had backed down and let Ryan have his chance after seeing Ryan developing deep feelings for her.
