"I get what I want without getting my hands dirty."
When Rick was in prison, he was selling drugs to inmates and acquired quite a lot of cash doing so and a prison guard, Mike Newberry, noticed it and offered to keep it with him until Rick got out. Once Rick was released his parole officer, Andrew Bennett, got him a job at the Miste Cafe where he worked as a waiter.
Season Six Edit
Dangerous Son Edit
Later, Rick murdered his parole officer because Andrew planned on sending Rick back to prison for breaking his parole and selling drugs. Rick shot and killed him, pushing his body out of a window to distract the swat team heading towards the front door. He then jumped on a boat and drove off, evading capture.
When Rick asked Mike for the money, Mike refused to give it to him. So, Rick then bribed Kyle to kidnap his wife, Kathleen Newberry, so Mike would pay up. But the plan backfired when Kyle was caught kidnapping Kathleen and fleeing on a boat. Rick was later arrested for bribery, murdering his parole officer, and drug charges.
