The friendship between Nick Stokes and Warrick Brown was one of the closest on the show.

Warrick and co-worker Nick Stokes had a brotherly friendship since the first season. Warrick and Nick often bet on cases, as was shown in the Season 1 episode "Anonymous". Warrick was extremely upset when Nick was kidnapped and buried alive in the Season 5 finale ("Grave Danger"). Nick was very upset after he found out that Warrick was murdered in the Season 8 finale ("For Gedda"). The evidence pointed to McKeen. When Nick found McKeen, he held him at gunpoint and the Undersheriff revealed his guilt. McKeen demanded that Nick shoot him. When Brass arrived, Nick told him that he did not shoot him, although he did fire the gun.
