Jesse Overton was a teenager who stabbed to death four members of the Collins family at the request of his girlfriend Tina Collins.
Season One[]
Blood Drops[]
On November 17, 2000, he went into the Collins house. Selecting the largest kitchen knife, he stabbed the father in the back in the upstairs hallway. He then killed the mother in her bed before moving back to finish off the two sons. He did it with the instruction of Tina Collins out of revenge for the father, Scott, repeatedly raping her, as well as her daughter/sister, Brenda, who was conceived and born from the rapes. Tina ran to a neighbor's house crying so she'd have an alibi and the cops wold be called.
He was tracked through the scooter he used to get away, which he and three other kids owned, and bidi cigarette he smoked and threw into the backyard plants with the match he lit it with, which matches a torn space in his matchbox where he pulled it from. He immediately asked for a lawyer when questioned, but the clinching evidence of the disassembled scooter in his trash and his bloody clothes in his garage led to Overton's arrest. In a polygraph, he confessed, but he lied when saying he killed the family so he and Tina, who date him and other boys to get away from the home, could be together. The polygraph caught that, and the blood drops revealed Scott was killed before the mother Barbara, so after he was incarcerated, Tina was questioned and revealed the truth.
Modus Operandi[]
Overton targeted all of the Collins family in revenge for Tina and Brenda being raped by Scott and Tina being impregnated with Brenda from the rapes. Overton rode up to the house on a 1993 Honda scooter he bought and share with some other kids, smoked a bidi cigarette, and threw it and the match used to light it into the backyard plants. He then crept in through the back door, went into the kitchen, and found the largest kitchen knife, a single-edged knife.
When Scott was coming out of Brenda's room after raping her, Scott stabbed him in the back repeatedly in the hallway. The mother Barbara's throat was slashed while she was sleeping. Going into the shared bedroom of the sons, Steven and Brad, Steven was killed in his sleep with multiple stabs to his throat and chest. Brad woke up and tried to flee, but putting up a flight, he was thrown to the floor beside the bed and stabbed in his back repeatedly. Overton then took the knife with him, rode off in the scooter, took the ride apart, and hid his bloody clothes in his garage.
