Deadline is the nineteenth episode in Season Two of CSI: Miami.
Synopsis[]
Josh Dalton, a hot, young reporter for the Miami Sun, witnesses the murder of his friend, a city councilman's aide, in Miami's drug district known as the Golden Triangle. Josh, who was suspiciously unharmed in the attack, claims they were only down there on a story but Horatio believes that there's more to the situation. Later, another writer from the same paper is found shot to death inside the trunk of a car which was reported stolen. Now as the evidence rejects Josh's version of what happened, the CSIs finds themselves in the world of fast-paced journalism and learn that there's a dangerously fine line between the truth and what sells newspapers.
Plot[]
As it turns out, Josh Dalton was a shady creature who hid behind his friend when he heard the gun cock, meaning only the councilman's aide was shot through the door. They were shot by a drug addict who thought they looked like cops when he looked through the peephole. Amy however was killed by Josh as she was investigating the fact that he was making up stories, chiefly, one about cruise ships being used to smuggle weapons. He killed her in the parking lot and stuffed her in the trunk of her own car.
