Afterwards, Darren and is out celebrating his new found freedom with Victor and Rocco at a party when he overhears his friends admit that they had actually killed Troy Faber with his gavilon and then buried it in the woods out by Stoner's Rock. Darren confronted them but Victor brushed him off and insisted that the past stay in the past.
Darren was furious that Victor and Rocco had actually murdered Troy then been dragged down with them. He went to Stoner's Rock, dug up his old gavilon, confronted Rocco in the bathroom, and killed him in revenge.
He was seen at the end of the episode standing before Troy Faber's grave, apologizing with a bag by his feet. When Frank Tripp searched the bag and found the gavilon, Darren admitted to them that he killed Rocco because they had taken half his life. He planned to kill Victor as well but Horatio had been forced to shoot him after he had taken a hostage. Darren was then arrested and incarcerated for murder.
