In his first appearance, he aids CSI Sara Sidle in discovering who executed a young student. Like his stepfather, Detective Vega, he has good knowledge of local gangs within Las Vegas and immediately discovers that the murder was gang related and that it linked to the other cases in Coup de Grace.
